A resident of the Brooklin district for more than 20 years, Mrs. Robert Grandy, 74, died in Sarnia Hospital on Friday (Dec. 25) following an illness of several weeks. She had been visiting her daughter Mrs. George Crabbe (Annie) since Thanksgiving. Prior to that she had made her home with her only son, John S. Grandy of Brooklin.
Mrs. Grandy was born Florence Isabella Montgomery and she lived in the state of Illinois until her marriage. Coming to Canada she lived on a farm at Cavan for several years, then in Peterborough. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Harriet McGuire of Winchester, Illinois, and a brother, Fred Montgomery of Murphysborough, Arkansas.
Rev. M. C. Fisher of Brooklin United Church will conduct the funeral service from the Robinson Funeral Chapel in Brooklin on Monday at 2:30. Mrs. Grandy will be resting at the funeral home from noon on Sunday. Burial will be in Cavan Cemetery.
